Request for Nominations for the KCBIA Board of Directors
The Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association has an order to accurately represent
our general membership. Therefore, we encourage you to take a moment and determine whether
you or someone you know has the desire to seek election to the Active Board of Directors. We
require 3 Directors in the Property Owner Category and 3 Directors in the Tenant Category.
As a member of the Active Board of Directors of the KCBIA, you are required to attend Board of Directors meetings held the first Wednesday of
each month, as well as other functions sponsored by the KCBIA from time to time. You will
also be asked to sit on and possibly chair at least one KCBIA committee.
When appointed to a Standing Committee, attend any meetings called by the
Chair. Experience to date is that most committees meet monthly.
Currently there are four committees: Education & Communication,
Safety & Security, Marketing and Business Development.
You may also choose to sit on an advisory committee in which you represent the KCBIA in a
non-voting capacity and report back to the board and membership. These committees may be
formed at any time throughout the year as required.
Be prepared to speak to issues affecting the Downtown, respond to
"position" referrals from the General Manager, represent the BIA
when speaking to members and build the development of the BIA in the area.
